Gordon Banks MP meets again with residents and legal team to discuss strategy for upcoming inquiry

11 January 2008

Ochil & South Perthshire MP Gordon Banks has met again with residents of Millhouse Park in Crieff and their legal representatives to discuss strategy for the upcoming local public inquiry next month.

Speaking after the meeting, Mr Banks said – “I was pleased that the residents had asked me and members of my staff to attend the meeting and I was only too happy to offer the use of my office in Crieff.”

“This was the first, in what will be a series of meetings between the residents, my office and the legal team as we all prepare for the inquiry. I have stated from the outset that I will be presenting evidence at the inquiry and I wanted to ensure that my contribution would form part of a joined up approach in partnership with the legal argument. It is vital that the legal team and I work closely together to ensure that we put forward the strongest argument possible to ensure that the residents keep their homes.”

“The meeting was very productive and I believe we have a strong legal case as well as a moral one as to why these residents, the innocent parties, should be allowed to remain on site.”
