25 February 2008
Gordon Banks has thrown his support behind a campaign being led by local businessman Mike Mulraney to make Clackmannanshire Scotlands first Business Improvement District (BID). After months of consultation, 70% of Clackmannanshires businesses already support the Business Improvement District concept which is Chaired by Mr Mulraney. The BID will deliver amongst other things, improved signage and increased support to business parks in Clackmannanshire.
Mr Banks said Clackmannanshires business community have shown a strong desire to invest locally and work in partnership with many groups to ensure long term and sustainable improvement is brought to our communities.
I am backing the campaign for a Business Improvement District which will bring many advantages to Clackmannanshires Business Parks.
As someone who started and ran his own business for almost twenty years, I know the value of supporting local businesses and the rewards that can bring.
Notes to Editors
A Ballot of all eligible voters in each of the ten business parks included in the BID will take place on March 28th 2008.
